D203 Candidate Forum:
Six candidates are vying for three four-year terms on the District 203 Board of Education. Looking to keep their seats on the board are Janet Yang Rohr and Kristine Gericke. Newcomers in the running are patent agent Becky Rudolph, Lewis University professor Joe Kozminski, businesswoman Cecilia Fox, and business attorney Char L. Dalton. Last night, they all spoke at the Naperville Area Homeowners Confederation’s forum, answering two prepared questions as well as audience submissions. Candidates covered topics including what they see as the three current challenges facing the district, and how to better serve students who aren’t college bound.
Therapy Dogs Needed:
Edward Hospital is looking for new dogs to take part in their Animal-Assisted therapy program. Dogs used for the program need to meet a list of criteria including be up to date on vaccinations, friendly toward people, able to perform commands without treats as a reward, and able to get along with other dogs. You can apply on the Edward-Elmhurst Health website. Candidates who pass that pre-screening will then be scheduled for temperament training in April.
