Abraham Lincoln’s Library Lunch

The 95th Street Library recently had a presidential visit from the past.

Abraham Lincoln headlined the library’s monthly Brown Bag Lecture series, speaking to a crowd of over 70 about his experiences before, during, and after the Civil War.

“Well people obviously recognize me right away even before I introduce myself,” said Kevin Wood, an Abraham Lincoln portrayer. “But they’re very interested just to meet me, to ask me a few questions, pose for photographs. It seems that people really are still interested in our nation’s history and the history of Abraham Lincoln in particular.”

Honest Abe also discussed the nation’s history, told stories of growing up and getting into politics, and talked about how he helped abolish slavery.

Next month’s featured speaker for the Brown Bag Lecture will be Marie Antoinette.

Naperville News 17’s Christine Lena reports.
