February is American Heart Month. In honor of that Edward Hospital has a special deal for CPR training classes.
From now through the end of February you can get hands-on CPR training for only $10.
“It’s open for everyone. We have a class that will fit everyone’s needs, whether you need to be certified or just want to refresh your skills. So you know what to do in an emergency situation,” said Mary Wilkerson, a basic life support instructor at Edward Hospital.
Participants will learn how to give CPR on adults, kids, and infants. They’ll also learn how and when to apply an automated external defibrillator (AED), and basic preventive choking techniques.
Knowing these skills could potentially help save someone you love.
“Being a first time parent, we’re expecting our first child in the next couple of weeks, I thought it would be a good opportunity to take this class and to freshen up on CPR,” said Melissa Shannon, a resident of Aurora.
Cardiovascular disease is the number one cause of disability and death among adult Americans. You can sign up for CPR classes online at Edward Hospital’s website.
