The Community Career Center’s annual “Dancing with the Celebrities” fundraiser delivered big moves and even bigger surprises.
Then it was time for the seven competitors to light up the dance floor at Méson Sabika with leaps, dips, and even some homages.
In the end, the judges decided to award the mirror ball trophy to Joe Chura and his partner Brianna Miller. Their “Dirty Dancing” – inspired performance ended the night with a bang, which even got some of Joe’s “Dealer Inspire” coworkers to join in for the “time of their lives.”
“Well it’s hard to know what people would react to because we were leading on that we were going to do some ribbon, inspiration-type dance,” said Chura. “So I wasn’t sure when we didn’t do that were people going to react to that? The ‘Dirty Dancing’ though- the nostalgia of that song, how powerful that is to me just excited both of us to think the crowd would love it.”
The audience’s vote for top dancer was split between Joe and Brianna and Amber Sweda and her partner Luke Malczewski.
Proceeds from the event will be used by the Community Career Center to help folks with interview skills, resume building, and find employment.
