Windy weather didn’t stop these graduates from enjoying the graduation ceremony of the Class of 2017.

As Naperville North and Naperville Central took their seats at the stadium, they came together for a few last smiles, dances, and songs as classmates.

Graduating seniors reflected on their past four years and will use it to shape the future.

“Each one of us has overcome and endured more than we thought possible. Each one of us found it somewhere inside of us to keep going, and we’re only going to keep going. Anywhere we’re going next, we should know that we can handle anything,” said Alia Trannon, Commencement Speaker for Naperville North High School.

For students at Naperville Central, that means realizing everyone’s potential and taking the next steps to achieving their dreams.

“In the words of Aristotle, ‘educating the mind without educating the heart is no education at all.’ I see a class full of educated passion. Before me I see musicians, and heart, and athletes determined, thinkers and dreamers whose demands deserve to be heard,” said Anna Sellas, Senior Class President for Naperville Central High School.

While students were honored for their accomplishments, it’s the teachers, administrators and principals who helped them get there.

“Thank you staff for cultivating positive learning relationships with these young men and women, giving them the opportunities and preparation to maximize their potential,” said Stephanie Posey, Principal of Naperville North High School.

Both Huskies and Redhawks will forever be connected as alumni of District 203, now moving on to write the rest of their stories.

“Each of you are meant to walk this Earth and to change the lives of others. Use that tenacity and that courage and that fellowship to make a difference,” said Commencement Speaker for Naperville North High School Samantha Straka. “Live your life, be happy with who you are, because you are so much more than you believe.”

Hats off to the graduates of the Class of 2017!
