Candidates looking to fill four empty seats in the Naperville municipal election recently gathered at Empire in Downtown Naperville.
It was all part of the meet and greet put on by the Naperville Professional Firefighters.
Each year they hold an event to help residents get acquainted with the candidates vying for a seat on the council. This year they kept it casual.
“The Naperville Professional Firefighters are stakeholders in this city no different than the citizens, and no different than the city council members are, and for us it’s important to have that involvement in those stakeholders and really have that conversation and that’s what this allows us to do, is to have that conversation and vested interest in the city,” explained Dan Donahoe, Vice Presidents of the Naperville Professional Firefighters.
Four seats are up in this election cycle, with incumbents Judy Brodhead, Kevin Coyne, Kevin Gallaher and John Krummen looking to hold their seats.
While newcomers Julie Berkowicz, Mike Isaac, Benny White and Michael Strick are all looking to take a seat at the dias.
