At their regular meeting, the Rotary Club of Naperville wrapped Mayor Emeritus A. George Pradel in a Quilt of Valor, to honor his military service.

Founded in 2003, the Quilts of Valor Foundation is a nonprofit that makes and donates quilts to veterans and service members.

“Of course everybody loves George Pradel, he has given so much to our community, but he is also a veteran, and we want to make sure and honor that, and let him know how much we appreciate his service that he gave to our country and also to our community,” said President of the Rotary Club of Naperville, Nina Menis.

In November of 2016, the Rotary Club of Naperville wrapped several of their other veterans in quilts, recognizing their contributions to our country.

“Our motto is ‘service above self,’ and what better example of service about self than the veterans that serve our country,” said Community Service Director for the Rotary Club of Naperville, Alma Jones.

Quilts of Valor has given out over 150,000 quilts to service members and veterans.
