Last fall the City invited residents to take a community satisfaction survey to gauge how Naperville is performing in areas like public works, transportation, public safety and utility services.
Overall, 94 percent of residents who took the survey said they were satisfied with the quality of life in Naperville. That’s up three percent from the last time they surveyed in 2012.
Over 93 percent of residents who took the survey also said they felt safe in their neighborhood, in Downtown Naperville and in our schools.
However, survey results also showed that residents would like to see more emphasis placed on traffic and congestion patterns and maintenance of our town’s infrastructure.
“We know that we’re always going to need to concentrate on those things and look for innovative ways to make improvements. On Washington Street we’re still working on our centralized traffic system where the lights will be coordinated, so we’re working on that and we think that will help,” said Linda LaCloche, Communications Manager with the City of Naperville.
The City will use the results from the survey to make better improvements and focus on strategic planning.
A public presentation will take place January 30 at City Hall for residents to attend and ask questions related to the survey.
