Ten teenaged students from the Shandong province of the People’s Republic of China visited Neuqua Valley High School as part of a tour of DuPage County.
To better learn more about American education, the visiting students were paired up with Neuqua students who are currently studying Chinese, going to classes through the day with them.
“These kinds of connections between students across continents, across oceans, are so critical and important because what they do is they break down misperceptions, they break down language, culture misperceptions, and they connect students and the students are really the future of our country,” said Principal of Neuqua Valley High School, Bob McBride.
The trip was part of a DuPage Discovery Tours program, highlighting DuPage County on an international scale.
The students also visited Argonne National Laboratory, Cantigny Park and other DuPage County attractions.
