A new chapter could be on the horizon for the Naperville Park District.
As a 2018 master plan is in the works, an open house was recently set up at city hall for the public to give their feedback and talk about what could be in store for the park district in the future.
“It’s just taking a look at what we have and what we can project into the future,” said Aileen McEldowney, a park district planner. “So this is based off our community survey, a lot of public feedback from that. And we will look into recommendations from that and find out what else people might want to have.”
That 2017 survey showed resident demand for more trails, an exercise faculty, and an indoor pool.
But what is certain for the park district’s future, development at Southwest Community Park, new additions of pedal-assist electric bicycles on park trails and more outposts for Naperville Kayak at the DuPage River Sports Complex.
