It was a grand opening for a welcome addition to Naperville.
April 5 was the official ribbon cutting for Patel Brothers. Mayor Steve Chirico, Indian Community Outreach Chairman Krishna Bansal and the Patel brothers themselves were out celebrating the Indian grocery store, which opened in February.
Before the Patel Brothers moved in, the building at the corner of Ogden and Jefferson had sat vacant for 17 years.
Now plans are in the works to soon fill the adjacent spaces.
“By the end of the year the entire mall will be filled with restaurants and other shops so it will be a mecca for everyone to come to,” shared Vice President of Patel Brothers Swetal Patel.
Ten percent of Naperville’s population is Indian.
