You can look no further than Naper Settlement to explore our city’s history.
The 19th century outdoor museum’s success is due in large part to former president and CEO Peggy Frank, who announced her retirement in 2012. She started working with the Naperville Heritage Society as a curator in 1979, before becoming the settlement’s leader and only employee.
During her 33-years, Frank helped restore buildings and landmarks, share residents stories and personal artifacts and make the settlement a place for visitors to enjoy living history. Today the settlement has grown to more than 40 employees and numerous volunteers.
Frank officially stepped down in January of 2013, at which time Macarena Tamayo-Calabrese replaced her as the next president and CEO.
