The new Pembroke Park playground was recently unveiled to the public and the Naperville Park District got a little help with the ribbon cutting from some neighborhood kids.
“I think it’s great that the park district refinishes different parks and different playgrounds throughout the community on very a regular basis,” said Naperville resident Karin Barden. “It’s a nice perk of being in Naperville.”
The playground was rebuilt after gathering input from the neighborhood via a mail-in survey. Resident suggestions included disability swings and a larger shelter area. Plus, there are plenty of elements for kids to climb up, swing across, and slide down.
The park district will open four other playgrounds throughout Naperville this summer, with Century Farms Park next on the list.
The playground re-openings are every Tuesday at 5 p.m. through July 17, with no event during the week of Ribfest.
