University Heights Park got a playground makeover, and is now open for play
With a cut of the ribbon, it was time to take the new equipment for a whirl. The Naperville Park District updated the University Heights Playground this spring after getting feedback from area residents.
“Every 15 years we renovate the playgrounds, and then we like to incorporate neighborhood feedback to make sure we get things that they like or don’t like,” says Project Manager Jessica Burgdorf. “And then we can use those comments to come up with the new design.“
In this case, that included more swings, a new shelter, more picnic tables, and a slide that had kids ready to roll. With sections for both two to five year olds and five to 12 year olds, there was something for everyone to take for a spin.
Run out and try it for yourself, or check out one of the other four playground remodels around town that the park district completed this year.
The final playground reopening takes place at Yorkshire Manor Park on July 17.
