It was “Another Opening, Another Show” as the bandshell blinds rose up for the first time this summer. Hundreds of audience members were in attendance to hear the Naperville Municipal Band’s free kickoff concert.
Under the direction of Conductor Ron Keller, the band hit all the right notes to provide every audience member with something to enjoy.
“The community and the people that listen have a lot of different musical tastes, so we try to have something on every concert for everybody,” Keller said.
The set list was also designed with an eye on celebrating Illinois’ bicentennial year. Songs like the “Illinois March” were included in honor of the state’s birthday.
The band performs every Thursday night at 7:30 p.m. through August 16. The next concert is June 14 with the theme of “Family Night”.
