Super Bowl tickets aren’t easy to come by, but a Facebook post gave Patrick Branham the opportunity of a lifetime.

“I happened to stumble across an online auction for these super bowl tickets and I was taking a look at it and thought ‘Gosh this is a bucket list item,’ ” said Branham.

Branham, along with a friend, beat out another bidder on Christmas Eve to win the pair of tickets, which included brunch with NFL alumni.

They were auctioned off by Bike Bald, who hosted their own watch party for the big game. The organization aims to enrich the lives of kids with cancer.

Branham’s donation stretched much further than any pass thrown in the Super Bowl.

“It’s a wonderful thing that he’s done because he was able to help support our facility and everything we do, with the tutoring, the art program, and the different thing we do with our families,” said Debbie Mossburg, the executive director at Bike Bald.

Contributions like these are essential to Bike Bald since the non-profit is completely funded by sponsorships and donations.

Cancer survivor and current bike bald board member, Willow Watson, knows the impact of those donations first hand.

“The kids who did have cancer they beat it. They grow up and become adults. They become people who give back, people who mean something and know that they have a purpose. They move on,” said Willow Watson, a board member at Bike Bald.

Paying it back, so kids can go forward.
