Some students stepped out of the classroom to explore future careers.
It was all part of the tenth annual STEM Career Expo at Fermilab. Students from around the area were invited to come out to explore what kind of careers are based in the fields of science, technology, engineering and math.
By talking one on one with companies, students were given the chance to see the different jobs they could have in the future, like an acoustic engineer, meteorologist, or a water scientist.
“So many fields have some blend of science or math or technology in them, so the idea of stem has really broadened and it impacts many different disciplines,” explained Susan Dahl, Education Program Leader at Fermilab.
Around 800 students came out for the expo.
The event was made possible by Fermilab’s not-for-profit partner, Fermilab Friends for Science Education.
