Turning Pointe Celebrates Autism Awareness Month

April is Autism Awareness Month, and Turning Pointe Autism Foundation is celebrating.

For the seventh year in a row, Turning Pointe is hosting their ‘Test Drives for Autism’ fundraiser. Through the month of April, participating car dealerships will donate $20 to Turning Pointe for every vehicle test drive.

“We have many participating dealerships now, throughout the community and actually a few out of state partners as well,” said Executive Director of Turning Pointe Autism Foundation, Carrie Provenzale.

This fundraiser brings in over $100,000 annually.

And new this year, the school officially opened their brand new spirit wear boutique.

“We are inviting the community to come in on Thursdays during the month of April, during the hours of 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., to learn more about Turning Pointe, see their local school that’s working with children impacted with autism, and to dedicate and open a new retail, vocational training environment here at Turning Pointe,” said Provenzale.

More than just a store, the space will be used to train Turning Pointe students on how to work a retail job.
