Naperville Central facing off against Regional Hosts Plainfield Central for the regional final showdown. Winner advances to sectionals.
First Inning
Bottom of the first, Plainfield Central’s Jake Conahue cracks a lead off homerun to left center, putting the Wildcats up 1-0.
Second Inning
Now it’s Centrals turn to crack a home run over the center field fence. Nathan Brinker hits a two run homer to tie the game up at 2 in the top of the second.
Same inning, Sam Hojnar at the plate with runners at 2 and 3. He hits a sinlge to center bringing in Danny Hughes and Dino Biggers, Central lead 4-2 now.
Third Inning
Bottom of the third and Plainfield Central staying with the REdhawks. Ryan Daly hits to right, bringing in Charlie Bischoff and Jack Lindish, Wildcats trailing by 1.
Same inning, all tied up at 6 and Jake Donahue cracks a double to left for Plainfield Central to take the lead after Ryan Daly scores.
Fourth Inning
We have got some deep hitting going on in this game. Top of the fourth, Naperville Central trailing by 1, Jared Suchevits singles to the outfield to bring in Sam Hojnar, cutting Plainfields lead to 1.
Sixth Inning
Central still trailing in the bottom of the sixth. Jack Lindish swinging for the fences… hits it deep in to right field, looks like its going over the fence, until it isn’t. Joe Wooten robs the Home run to keep central in the game.
But Plainfield Central was just destined for greatness at this point. They get a few more runs in the bottom of the sixth and seventh to cap off their win over the Redhawks, 10-7.
