We continue our girls water polo action with another cross town rival. These two teams saw each other in the opening tournament with North taking the victory 9-4. The Huskies are ranked third on Illpolo.com
We pick things up in the second quarter, game tied at 1s. North’s Sarah Crossett is able to patiently wait and then get the goal. North looking good early, up 2-1.
Still in the second and the goals are starting to flow. Central’s Emily Wagner drills home a goal off of a nice pass from Grace Lueken. All tied at 2s.
Second half action now, game again tied at 3s… but a lengthy pass from the redhawk goalie on the fast breaks helps Grace Lueken to get the goal to go. Redhawks lead 4-3.
But north coming roaring back. Anna Tarantino with the aggressive movements off the rebound pushes the ball in for the goal. North now up again 6-5.
Fourth quarter action and north looking to keep the lead, Senior Taylor Wessel drills the top lead corner. She ends her night with 6 goals as North exists with another victory 8-5.
