Due to the winter weather making Neuqua Valley’s field unplayable, the Wildcats head to Plainfield North to play the Tigers on their turf field. Neuqua is looking for its first win after tying the number one ranked Barrington to start the year before losing to St Charles North over the weekend.
First Half
Three minutes into the game and the Wildcats offense kicks into gear as Danielle Hopkins finds number five for the nifty goal. NV is used to seeing that number scoring a lot of goals, but its junior Piper Biziorek wearing it after the graduation of four year starter Alyssa Bombacino.
Just a few minutes later and Biziorek leaps past a defender and centers the ball to Shannon Tagler who splits the Tigers goalie and defenders to make it 2-0. Five minutes into the game and the Wildcats have already passed their season total in goals.
Later in the first half, Biziorek with another centering pass, it bounces off a defender right to Katelynn Nardulli who knocks in the goal, 3-0 Neuqua heading into halftime.
Second Half
Less than a minute into the 2nd half and the Wildcats keep their foot on the gas as Tagler unleashes a shot from 25 yards out that finds the corner of the net. NV rolling up 4-0.
Midway through the 2nd half, Tagler with the cross that finds the foot of Alison Dovalovsky who puts it home. Neuqua with a five goal lead. Plainfield North gets a goal from Nina Bradshaw in the final minute to get on the board, but Neuqua picks up win number one by a score of 5 to 1.
